The beauty of Chinese drumming lies in its flexibility. It can play a supporting role in the background or
as the main attraction of a performance. It can be combined with other percussion instruments like
cymbals and gongs, yet can also perform by itself. Chinese drumming also plays a very important role in
storytelling, setting rhythms and tempo for various Chinese performances like Lion and Dragon Dance
and Martial Arts showcases.
